Package: aptitude
Version: 0.8.13-1+b1
Followup-For: Bug #867006

Hello,

I was hit by this problem this morning using the latest aptitude available in
sid. I am using this aptitude version since 2020-06-03 without problems,
therefore I believe it is triggered by the current situation of upgradable
packages.

Steps to reproduce:
- Start aptitude.
- Type 'U' to mark upgrades.
- Type 'g'.
- aptitude crashes and the following error message is shown:
Uncaught exception: ../../src/ui.cc:1549: void auto_fix_broken(): Assertion "resman->resolver_exists()" failed.

When running `aptitude upgrade` from the command line, a fatal exception is
reported:
```
The following packages will be REMOVED:
  libicu63{u} libre2-6{u}
The following packages will be upgraded:
  chromium{b} chromium-common chromium-l10n chromium-sandbox
4 packages upgraded, 0 newly installed, 2 to remove and 1 not upgraded.
Need to get 54.9 MB of archives. After unpacking 29.1 MB will be freed.
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
 chromium : Conflicts: libavcodec58 (= 7:4.3-2) but it is not going to be installed
*** ERROR: search aborted by fatal exception.  You may continue
           searching, but some solutions will be unreachable.
I want to resolve dependencies, but no dependency resolver was created.The following packages will be REMOVED:
  libicu63{u} libre2-6{u}
The following packages will be upgraded:
  chromium{b} chromium-common chromium-l10n chromium-sandbox
4 packages upgraded, 0 newly installed, 2 to remove and 1 not upgraded.
Need to get 54.9 MB of archives. After unpacking 29.1 MB will be freed.
aptitude failed to find a solution to these dependencies.  You can solve them yourself by hand or type 'n' to quit.
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
 chromium : Conflicts: libavcodec58 (= 7:4.3-2) but it is not going to be installed
Resolve these dependencies by hand? [N/+/-/_/:/?]
```

Feel free to ask for more information. I will gladly help in debugging this.

Kind regards
Benjamin
