If you're too lazy to choose a unique address, you can use

  http://www.pps.univ-paris-diderot.fr/~jch/software/files/generate-ipv6-address-0.1.tar.gz

I do this in my "up" script:

  mac="$(ip addr show dev eth0 | grep '^ *link/ether ' | head -n 1 | sed 's|^ *link/ether \([0-9a-z:]*\) .*$|\1|')"
  addr=$(generate-ipv6-address fe80:: "$mac")
  ip -6 addr add "$addr"/64 dev ${interface}

(Yeah, I agree that generate-ipv6-address should be able to work out
MAC addresses automatically.)

Then it's not Babel doing the routing, it's OpenVPN. You probably got
your Babel redistribution rules wrong, or your DHCP route is
interfering.
