Dear Wiki user,

You have subscribed to a wiki page or wiki category on "Debian Wiki" for change notification.

The "DebianEdu/Documentation/Jessie/Upgrades" page has been changed by HolgerLevsen:
https://wiki.debian.org/DebianEdu/Documentation/Jessie/Upgrades?action=diff&rev1=7&rev2=8

Comment:
move notes about ssh+squid changes into the new features chapter

  Of course you can also upgrade the chroot as usual.

- === Other changes ===
-
- * Squid: shutdown/reboot of the main server takes longer due to a new default setting {{{shutdown_lifetime 30 seconds}}}. As an example the delay could be set to 10 seconds by appending the line {{{shutdown_lifetime 10 seconds}}} to {{{/etc/squid3/squid.conf}}}.
- * SSH: the root user is no longer allowed to login with password. The default {{{PermitRootLogin yes}}} has been replaced with {{{PermitRootLogin without-password}}}, i.e. ssh-keys will work. To be able to use the slbackup-php site (where root ssh login is used) {{{PermitRootLogin yes}}} has to be enabled temporarily in {{{/etc/ssh/sshd_config}}}.
-
  == Upgrades from older Debian Edu / Skolelinux installations (before Wheezy) ==

  To upgrade from any older release, you will need to upgrade to the Wheezy based Debian Edu release first, before you can follow the instructions provided above. Instructions are given in the [[DebianEdu/Documentation/Wheezy|Manual for Debian Edu Wheezy]] about how to upgrade to Wheezy from the previous release, Squeeze, and the Squeeze manual covers the one before that! (Lenny was it's name and before that there was even another one, based on what was called Etch.)
