[Debian-in-workers] Debian IN subversion repository

(Mohamed, this is in a discussion in debian-in-workers, the list for
people working on support for so-called "Indic" languages, ie
languages from India and surrounding area. Jaldhar H. Vyas is the
project manager on Alioth, and I suggested a common SVN repository for
the debian-in work, including l10n in many languages. You may want to
add your input)

Jaldhar, can "bubulle" get commit access there?

You can probably also add "ghoseb-guest" for Bengali translations,
Ravi Shrivastava for Hindi (I don't have hiw Alioth login name...see
members of the "d-i" project), Amanpreet Singh Alam for Punjabi
(ditto).

If you don't find these Alioth logins, I'll come back with them.

For each language, I suggest adopting what Mohamed Adnène Trojette
adopted on the CVS for Arabeyes (the Arabic localization project), in
the "debian" part. Mohamed (CC'ed to this mail) is now the interface
between the translators from arabeyes.org and the Debian project:

"level1"to "level5" are the levels of Debian Installer translations,
described in chapter 1 of the documentation.

Each directory contains the files for the packages of the given level:

"po-debconf" contins all po-debconf translations, ie translation of
the screens shown by packages during their install process:

www contains the web site translation files. I'll leave this aside for
the moment because there's a mix of PO and XML format here. Maybe when
Indic languages translators will be ready for this, a simple PO systme
will be ready, too.



For other activities such as specific packages development (fonts,
input methods, etc.), I have no specific directory layout
suggestions. SVN anyway makes it easy to change directory layout
(contrary to the infamous CVS...:-))
