Hi Jakob, thanks for your interest!

Luckily upstream has just released version 3.6 LTS, so I'll package that
as soon as possible, just after uploading the last 2.28.8 release.

I'll need help from a Debian Developer though, since I cannot upload
packages to NEW myself (which would be required due to SONAME changes).
