current bottleneck is mayavi2 -- there is no python3 bindings yet (filed a
bugreport), and 0.18.x of python-mne is python3 only.

we could patch up to make pytest not error out upon mayavi2
non-availability but not sure if there would be no other gotchas.

if someone finds time to push it forward -- would be great
