<p>Thank you for the explanation. Sorry I wasn't aware we were in
deep freeze.</p>
<p>Actually I think this is a critical bug because the vrrender
application doesn't launch at all. So the package is useless
without the fix.</p>
<p>The fix is still valid for the previous version, so I can propose
you to revert everything I've done, and create a new patch version
20.2.0-2 to only fix the bug. Would that sound ok for you ? I
could easily redo the update to 20.3 later after the release.<br>
</p>
<p>If yes, for the git repository, would you prefer that I rewrite
the history with a push -f on all branches ? Or should I add
revert commits on all three branches ? Or can I keep upstream and
pristine tar as they are and only add a revert commit on the
master branch ?</p>

May be you are not comfortable with the freeze policy. We are currently
in deep freeze. This means:
* no new upstream versions
* only minimum fixes for release critical bugs
* uploads to unstable with other changes are discouraged to enable

There are three options:
1. I can upload your changes to experimental - but this is probably
not really what you want.
2. We can simply wait to fix this issue until Debian 11 is released
and your changes are targeting to the next release
3. The severity of the VRRender bug will be bumped to serious (which
is release critical. Than we need to revert the upstream version
bump and apply only the said bug.
I have no idea what option you and the bug reporter might prefer.
