For sure it should be considered a bug in a package if a user is missing<br>
some features that are provided by the software. This was topic of bug<br>
#995406[1] which was closed in bbmap 38.94+dfsg-1 and which should not<br>
occure any more in any later version including the version in Debian<br>
stable[2].<br>

If you have continuous trouble please use<br>
<br>
sudo apt install reportbug<br>
reportbug bbmap<br>
<br>
to give us full version information that is probably needed to<br>
understand the issue.<br>
<br>
Moreover some command line which leads to some error we could reproduce<br>
would be helpful.<br>
