I believe it is useful to improve the ordering of syslog messages
during boot, and to increase the chance of being able to pinpoint a
crash during boot by looking at the generated syslog messages that
managed to escape the machine before the machine crashed. Say that
rsyslog is set to forward messages over the net and the kernel modules
loaded by acpi-support causes the system to crash. If rsyslog was
started before acpi-support, it would be a lot easier to figure out
what is going on.

Do you believe init.d/acpi-support should start before the syslog
collector is started?

Happy hacking,
