<div><span style="line-height: 120%; color:#333333;">Wie het lijstje met voorspellingen voor 2019 heeft overlopen, zal er niet omheen kunnen: <u>we staan voor een periode van grote onzekerheid.</u> Dat is natuurlijk een dooddoener, want de toekomst baadt altijd in een waas van onzekerheid. Maar de onzekerheden van vandaag hebben vooral te maken met een aantal factoren die op zijn zachtst gezegd bedreigend mogen worden genoemd. <br></span></div>
<div><span style="line-height: 120%; color:#333333;">De financiële markten hebben dat al lang begrepen, getuige de forse koersbewegingen uit de afgelopen maanden. Russ Koesterich, portfolio manager bij het $60 miljard BlackRock Global Allocation Fund, wijst op de eerste plaats op de dreiging van de komst van een recessie. Zowel in Europa als in de Verenigde Staten en China vertraagt de economische groei. Voorlopig is van recessiegevaar nog geen sprake, maar een klein duwtje kan volstaan om daar verandering in te brengen. <br><br><u>Factoren als de Brexit, de handelsoorlogen tussen de Verenigde Staten en China, de monetaire politiek van de Amerikaanse centrale bank en talloze andere factoren kunnen op eender welk willekeurig moment ontsporen. Bijzondere aandacht verdient de situatie rond de Italiaanse banken. Telkens opnieuw blijkt die erger te zijn dan verwacht. Op eender welk moment kan in Italië een bankencrisis ontstaan die overslaat naar de rest van de wereld. </u><br><br>
De boodschap van BlackRock is dan ook duidelijk: hou goud achter de hand in wat een moeilijk jaar zal worden. In het vierde kwartaal van 2018 steeg de goudprijs met 7,10%, waarbij de ETF’s opnieuw volop in de goudmarkt stapten. De goede prestatie van de edelmetalen in het algemeen en van het goud in het bijzonder kan in de loop van dit jaar een verlengstuk krijgen. Meer dan ooit is het nodig om een beleggingsportefeuille af te dekken, dit tegen de achtergrond dat 2019 een moeilijk beleggingsjaar dreigt te worden.</span></div>
