Package: sponsorship-requests
Severity: normal
X-Debbugs-CC: pkg-electronics-devel at alioth-lists.debian.net

Dear mentors,

I am looking for a sponsor for my package "gcc-sh-elf":

 * Package name    : gcc-sh-elf
   Version         : 4
 * License         : various
 * Vcs             :
https://salsa.debian.org/electronics-team/toolchains/gcc-sh-elf
   Section         : devel

The source builds the following binary packages:

  gcc-sh-elf - GNU C compiler for embedded SuperH devices
  libnewlib-sh-elf-dev - small ISO C standard library for embedded
SuperH devices

To access further information about this package, please visit the
following URL:

  https://mentors.debian.net/package/gcc-sh-elf/

Alternatively, you can download the package with 'dget' using this
command:

  dget -x
https://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/g/gcc-sh-elf/gcc-sh-elf_4.dsc

This is just an upload of the existing experimental package to unstable
along with a Standards-Version bump.
It was uploaded to experimental because of a serious regression in GCC
12, but it has since been fixed for the most part and I'm happy to
upload it to unstable now.

Otherwise, I do not believe new test failures deserve additional
attention. I believe the autopkgtests offer very good coverage for this
package; they all pass. Furthermore, I've been able to build carl9170fw
using GCC 12 without a problem. (I'll be resurrecting my RFS for
carl9170fw soon.)

I'll probe the reproducible builds situation soon, but this should not
postpone the migration to GCC 12.
