after a recent update (in the last week or so), gnome2 started using
metacity instead of sawfish even though
/etc/alternatives/x-window-manager points to sawfish. I tried running
update-alternatives but that doesn't work. Seems like gnome-session has
metacity set as the default window manager and has started ignoring
/etc/alternatives/x-window-manager.
If this isn't a gnome package problem or if there is a simple answer, I
apologize in advance.

* Source .gnomerc at startup (closes: #242065):
- gnome-session.install: install 55gnome-session_gnomerc in Xsession
directory.
- 55gnome-session_gnomerc: source .gnomerc if we are running
gnome-session.
- also handle the case where we are running x-session-manager,
symlinked to gnome-session.
