TBH I would be in favor of dropping the blacklist by default, or maybe 
keep the infrastructure but use an empty list (or with really fewer 
applications)

There are quite some bug reports from people who don't understand why 
the icon is not displayed.

I'm really wondering why vim is listed there, same for xterm (see 
#921705). What are our criteria to blacklist a .desktop file?
