The success of any disaster recovery plan depends a great deal on being able to determine the risks associated with data loss. What is the impact to our business if the data is lost?</span></span><br />

<li style="text-align: left;"><span style="color:#000000"><span style="font-size:15px">Has your organization ever had to invoke its disaster recovery plan which included the number one critical application to your organization and if so was the recovery time objective met and how long did it take to return to your primary solution?</span></span><br />

<li style="text-align: left;"><span style="color:#000000"><span style="font-size:15px">Disaster recovery planning, also called contingency planning, is the process of preparing your organizations assets and operations in case of a disaster. But what does your organization define as a disaster?</span></span><br />

<li style="text-align: left;"><span style="color:#000000"><span style="font-size:15px">Motivation. As the team leader for the project, you have several options. First, you should understand the current environment in your company. Are there competing pressures for time and resources?</span></span><br />

<li style="text-align: left;"><span style="color:#000000"><span style="font-size:15px">Have policies and procedures been established to ensure the continuity of data services in an event of a data breach, loss, or other disaster (this includes a disaster recovery plan)?</span></span><br />
</li>
<li style="text-align: left;"><span style="color:#000000"><span style="font-size:15px">Does the organization require detailed Business Recovery Plans for all the organizations business entities, or is the focus on how the IT Disaster Recovery Plans supports the business entities?</span></span><br />

<li style="text-align: left;"><span style="color:#000000"><span style="font-size:15px">Should you have separate wide area connectivity for your backup site that is sheltered from normal network traffic, either as a separate packet connection, or as a circuit like connection?</span></span><br />
</li>
<li style="text-align: left;"><span style="color:#000000"><span style="font-size:15px">Has specific responsibility been assigned for the execution of business continuity and disaster recovery plans (either within or outside of the information security function)?</span></span><br />
