<div>I re-tested that bug and observing the process more closely, I saw that when the software (gnome-disk-utility) asks us for authentification (password), we just have time to see that behind the gnome box asking for the password, gnome-disk-utility seems to have already begun his process of formatting the USB stick (progression bar showing).</div>
<div>I really mean that the software seems to begin to format BEFORE having received confirmation+password. As if the user would never cancel the process at the last step : change of mind, forgetting the password, not being the right user, a child playing with the PC, whatever.</div>
<div>And so the USB is formatted everytime, whatever you do, if you go so far as this authentification/password box.</div>
<div>Remark : It is quick (instant) and simple formatting with no partition creation.</div>

<div>Imagine the disaster for the user if he wrongly chose the HDD instead of USB. Even after realising his mistake & cancelling at the last moment, the Hard Disk would be formatted anyway.</div>

<div>If the problem/bug is just giving the right order to the process, it would apparently not be difficult to repair/debug. Just begin the formatting+copying AFTER full confirmation+password from the user. But I imagine one has to consider the whole scheme/picture about this software.</div>
