Looking at the latest git logs here: http://git.gnupg.org/cgi-bin/gitweb.cgi?p=gnupg.git;a=shortlog;h=refs/heads/STABLE-BRANCH-1-4 it seems that the OP managed to finally persuade upstream to accept his contributions, including some additional improvements. So can this bug be closed now?
