Support for smartcards on gpg1 was deliberately removed with this
release.  Upstream is really only actively maintaining the 2.1.x branch
for smartcards, and gpg1 is likely to interfere with the use of
smartcards on 2.1.x.

If you want to use smartcards with the stock debian packages, i
recommend converting to the default gnupg, which is the 2.1.x branch,
and installing scdaemon.
