Hi,

Sometimes, the upgrade of the QGIS toolkit through unattended-upgrades
will create some garbage empty dirs a the root of the filesystem.

Sadly I cannot reproduce this.

Can you please:
  - try to mitigate this problem by setting $HOME to /tmp
    before calling crssync

  - clean-up existing systems.
    "find /.cache -type -d -empty -delete" should be harmless.
