Bug#370644: boot loader configuration does not get written

Hi!

update-grub does not only exit with status code 1 without noticing the 
user, one should point out that currently it's not possible to install a 
new kernel with an unpatched update-grub. Installing a new kernel, 
uninstalling the running one and rebooting will even result in 
an "unbootable" system, as grub will only show the old kernel entry in 
its menu, although the output of update-grub looks fine to the user.
