Subject: Re: /usr/sbin/grub-probe: error: Couldn't find PV pv2. Check your device.map.
Package: grub-pc
Version: 1.98+20100804-14+squeeze1
Severity: normal

I have a system where updating device.map doesn't make the error go away:

 # update-grub
 Generating grub.cfg ...
 /usr/sbin/grub-probe: error: Couldn't find PV pv2. Check your device.map.

I use mirrored LVM, no mdadm involved.

Running grub-probe manually complains:

Any workarounds I can try?
