[Pkg-Mali-devel] Fw: Bug#975921: mali-midgard: Contains auto-generated file without corresponding source

Someone has filed a bug pointing out that the mali driver contains a
generated file without the means to generate it, and software must be
delivered in the 'preferred form of modification' not some obfuscated
form.

Can we just add the missing script (and the config it uses) to the
source? Or is that part of the non-free bit of the DDK?

On the one hand this is just another header file describing hardware
config, but on the other it is pretty obfuscated and is not the
'preferred form' - changes should be done elsewhere.

Do we agree that in fact this driver is not meeting the definition of
free software and should be thrown out of debian?

Possibly no-one actually cares as this is now very old, and it only
works on a couple of boards, so maybe it would be a mercy and we can
use the free drivers now?

mali_base_hwconfig_issues.h currently has:

Unless patches to this file are accepted, this is not the preferred
form, and the mentioned scripts do not exist (I assume they are
Arm-internal scripts).
