Well, let's keep in mind that the "debian" name is a registered
trademark and that we've enforced it in the past. Our current trademark
policy makes it clear that its usage as part of domain names should be
vetted by the project. If we think its usage as part of the d-m.o is
harmful to Debian, we've all the rights to ask for a change in that.

Of course it's not something we should be doing lightly and, trust me,
I'm absolutely *not* eager to do so, given the burden that will fall on
lawyers and the (then) DPL :-) But it *is* a possibility.

I agree with these, and we should keep them on the plate for a middle
ground solution if we think (2) is too much.

But where I need your help the most, is rather on point (1), the
technical part of a potential agreement. I understand from your mail
you've given up hopes, but I haven't and I think we can make convincing
arguments about it.

So, back to my request for feedback: do you think the technical proposal
I made as part of (1) is reasonable? Or would you rather want something
more? Something less? Please let me know.

Cheers.
