Bug#699393: gnome-mplayer: starts with zero height canvas instead of normal (1:1) size

A little update: the issue seems to come up in some cases, but not
always, when testing a given video multiple times.
Hence, it seems that the bug does not depend on the video I choose to
play, but on something else (something less obvious, I would say...).
