There is no indication that this is related to Debian packaging so as
the Debian packager I will probably not look into this deeper due to
lack of time. MariaDB 10.2 has not even ever been in Debian.

I recommend you look in the MariaDB issue tracker if this has been
reported there or not. Also, you should also provide a test case so
your bug can easily be reproduced and debugged, which means supplying
some CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements so the problematic database
can be at least partially reconstructed for debugging.
