* What led up to the situation? - Installed current version of driver in repo (550.163.01-4), and I noticed a warning logged to dmesg when the system was booting. <code>nvidia_drm.modeset=1</code> is correctly enabled and reports <code>Y</code>, but DRM permissions are revoked at runtime (error below): WARNING: CPU: PID: ... at nvidia-drm-dev.c:nv_drm_revoke_modeset_permission.</font></pre><pre style="padding-top:8px;margin-top:0px;border-top:0px;color:rgb(0,0,0)">As a result: <span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif">PRIME render offload fails, </span><code>DRI_PRIME=1 glxinfo</code><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif"> falls back to llvmpipe, and </span><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif">Xorg reports </span><code>Failed to load driver: nvidia-drm</code></pre><pre style="padding-top:8px;margin-top:0px;border-top:0px;color:rgb(0,0,0)"><p><font face="arial, sans-serif">This occurs even though <code>nvidia_drm</code> is loaded, modesetting is enabled and NVIDIA provider appears in <code>xrandr --listproviders</code></font></p><p><font face="arial, sans-serif"><code><br></code></font></p><font face="arial, sans-serif"> * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
ineffective)? - Installing 580 straight from NVIDIAs repos fixed this issue.
