Maybe for Forky. And maybe four. Gtk2, Gtk3, Qt5, Qt6

But I'd rather not go there for Trixie into the freeze.

No, please do not ! The one Lazarus IDE will make Gtk2, Gtk3,
Qt5, Qt6 (or Windows or MacOS) binaries. It does not matter which
widget set Lazarus itself has been compiled with. Multiple desktop
files (and therefore menu entries) will make people think they
need to choose thier proposes widget set when they go to start up
Lazarus. Further, they will think choosing, eg the Qt6 Lazarus
will automatically create a Qt6 binary, and it will not !
