<p>No, gtk2 is not the issue here. That directory, packages/gtk2
includes things such as libpango and libpangocairo that are not
part of gtk2, maybe just dropped into the gtk2 dir because gtk2
was current at the time.</p>
<p>Qt5 and Qt6 apps depend on pango. The Lazarus GTK3 bindings
include their own interface to, eg, Pango and PangoCairo but other
widget sets don't. This seems a Lazarus problem rather than FPC
but, at the moment, FPC does solve it.</p>
