libnet-amazon-s3-tools-perl orphaned?

Hi,
before I start digging into the code and debugging it... Am I the only one using this package and getting issues?
Apparently the "s3put" is not connecting to the S3 service... it hangs for long time, no sockets open on os level... 

Am I the only one with such a problem? Does it work for anyone else?

I do not see bug associated, and the fact that it is a "group" maintaining it, I have the feeling that it is orphaned.
Am I right?
