Bug#711403: libxml-compile-perl: uninstallable with perl 5.18

Source: libxml-compile-perl
Version: 1.31-1
Severity: important
User: debian-perl at lists.debian.org
Usertags: perl-5.18-transition
Tags: sid jessie
Affects: libxml-compile-cache-perl libxml-compile-dumper-perl

This package is uninstallable with perl 5.18 from experimental (in a
clean sbuild session), since it depends (and build-depends) on
perl (<< 5.17). Rationale from git log:

commit 2c311ac7d0e44a5fd053a144257d84a786964e5f
Author: Joenio Costa <joenio at colivre.coop.br>
Date: Fri Jan 25 09:47:18 2013 -0300

avoid running with perl version 5.17

Log::Report (XML::Compile depends that) v0.94 (current version packaged
in Debian) breaks with perl 5.17.

"Log::Report had a problem with the dynamic hash ordering of Perl 5.17
This made Log::Report fail regression tests, and with it also the
    XML::Compile tests."

Bug#710796 has probably addressed the Log::Report issues. I suggest:

- Revove the perl (<< 5.17) dependency
- Check that XML::Compile builds and works with the newer Log::Report
  and perl 5.18.
- If there are still issues not reported in the BTS, report them,
tagging them user: debian-perl at lists.debian.org, usertags:
perl-5.18-transition, and set those bugs to affect
  libxml-compile-perl.

Cheers,
Dominic.
