Hi Arthur,

Quoting Arthur Bols (2023-07-01 23:04:59)

Licensecheck cannot meaningfully process binary files. It can try plow
through such files, but the result is by no means reliable.

There are plans for future support for extracting metadata from specific
known classes of binary files, notably fonts. Hereby merging this
bugreport with the bugreport tracking that particular issue.

Until implemented, you will need to ensure that licensecheck is fed
plaintext, e.g. as described here:
https://wiki.debian.org/CopyrightReviewTools#licensecheck

Kind regards,

 - Jonas
