Bug#1034604: Volume control not assigned to the correct device anymore

Thomas Goirand zigo at debian.org
Wed Apr 19 13:31:15 BST 2023

Package: pulseaudio
Version: 16.1+dfsg1-2+b1
Severity: important

Hi,

After an upgrade to Bookworm, controlling the volume of my USB headphone
with its integrated buttons doesn't work anymore. It feels like it's
controlling the "main" volume of my laptop (ie: my laptop's speakers)
instead of the volume of my headphones.

This is kind of frustrating, it used to work absolutely perfectly in
Bullseye. Every even version of Debian, this is broken. Why?!? Is there
a way to configure this? If so, how come the default config changed?
I'm guessing I wont be the only annoyed user...

Cheers,

Thomas Goirand (zigo)
