I am seeing similar to what Gerard ROBIN <g.robin3 at free.fr> saw. I have
two machines, both using HDMI monitors. I find that the quickest way to
restore sound is Configuration -> Digital Stereo (HDMI) Output ->
Digital Stereo (HDMI 3) Output (unplugged) (unavailable) [or similar]
-> Digital Stereo (HDMI) Output.

Host hawk was running bullseye and earlier without seeing this problem.
tiassa is a new computer and a fresh installation.

M. Robin may well be correct that the real problem lies lower in the
stack, but this is where I am seeing it. I note that both machines are
running Intel hardware and the snd_hda_intel driver. Another machine,
tsalmoth, a laptop, with Intel hardware but with no HDMI monitors, does
not exhibit this behavior.
