Pulseaudio detects the microphone, but there is no sound coming from it. Changing the volume settings had no effect. Hardware follows:<br></div><div><br></div><div>ASUS Prime B-350-Plus motherboard with Realtek ALC 887-VD2 audio chip<br></div><div><br></div><div>I also did a clean install of bullseye on an old Dell laptop. Sound from the onboard microphone was badly distorted, but sound from an external microphone (mic jack) was fine.<br></div><div><br></div><div>Lastly, there is no sound during game play on an old game requiring OpenAL (via osspd).<br></div><div><br></div><div>None of the above problems exist with Buster or with Ubuntu 18.04, but the same problems exist on Ubuntu 20.04<br></div><div><br></div><div>Bullseye installations were done as a simple upgrade from Buster, as a full-upgrade from Buster, and as a clean install. All Ubuntu installations were clean installs. Kernels on all systems were stock as were all installed applications. No backported programs were installed.<br></div></div><br></body></html>
