[Pkg-salt-team] plans for salt 0.17.0 in debian

Hi all,

I understand that salt 0.17.0 is due to be released soon.

Unless there are objections, I'm planning to hold off uploading any
packages for 0.17.0 to the main debian archive until 0.16.4-2 has
entered testing. This is 7 days away at this stage.

This will mean that 0.16.4 will be able to be backported to the
official wheezy and squeeze official backports, which at this point
seems to be much more sensible that backporting a large and brand new
feature release.

I'm still planning to do the 0.17.0 packages for debian.saltstack.com
so those who want to move to/test the new release can do so.
