After hesitating for a long time, I finally uploaded 2:3.5.6~dfsg-4
with the patch I used in the package you tested.

I'll ask release managers to unblock it....based on the argument that
-3 isn't working properly for you while -4 should be.

Please confirm ASAP if that's correct.
