Package: libsmbclient
Version: 2:4.11.3+dfsg-1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

after an upgrade to smbclient=2:4.11.3+dfsg-1 (actually, some earlier
version
is affected too) I lost an ability to mount a share from Windows XP machine.
Several clients that utilize libsmbclient (smbclient, Double Commander's
"Windows Network" plugin, gio mount) hang for a while and fail on
timeout. So I
had to roll smbclient back to 2:4.9.5+dfsg-5+deb10u1, as well as some other
dependencies, where it works well.

I have already asked about it on #smbclient:freenode.net, and qman__ told:

Jan 01 01:44:25 <qman__>        there have been several breaking security
patches to SMB both on windows and samba since Windows XP went EOL
Jan 01 01:44:55 <qman__>        I would be more surprised if you could
get it
to work

But I couldn't see any CVE fixes in recent changelog that should prevent
SMB1
from working at all, and the support for it doesn't seem to be removed from
libsmbclient yet, so it looks like an unintentional bug.
