I'm not sure what to do with this bug report. The thing is that current samba
does not work well with external ldap, when in AD mode, - it uses its own LDAP
server.  As for the NT4-style "domain", it is obsolete/legacy for many years,
and I'm not really sure an external LDAP is supported directly by Samba.
Also, smbldap-tools package seems to be gone.

It might work though if you use libnss-ldap to integrate ldap-based user/group
storage into your linux system.

Is it sufficient for your needs?
