I don't intend to package SDL_sound 2 myself (I'm concentrating on the
extensions that are part of https://github.com/libsdl-org/) but if someone
else (maybe you?) would like to package and maintain SDL_sound version
2.x, doing so in https://salsa.debian.org/sdl-team/ would make sense.

I imagine the relationship between sdl-sound1.2 and libsdl2-sound should be
similar to sdl-mixer1.2 and libsdl2-mixer, so this bug report would still
be "won't fix" and the SDL-2-based version should be a separate source
package.
