Actually, the dependency is between gdm3 and bootlogs.

The gdm3 init script contains:
# Should-Start:      console-screen acpid bootlogs dbus hal network-manager

Since version 2.88dsf-8, the bootlogs init script contains:
# Should-Start:      $x-display-manager gdm gdm3 kdm xdm ldm sdm wdm nodm

This introduces a loop between the two scripts.
