vim-latexsuite update?

Hi,

I was using the vim-latexsuite package and noticed a minor bug (just a
typo). I went to file a bug report and noticed that the package is
well over a year out of date (unstable has 0.20041219-2 and the
current upstream is 20060124).  Looking at the developer information
of the package pointed me to bug #307166 that the current maintainer
has  put the package up for adoption. In that bug report, Matthijs
Mohlmann posted that the vim package maintainers will take over the
package. However it seems nothing have come of this. Is this useful
package just going to wither away or will it actually be
adopted/updated?
