Hei!

I am a Jami core developer. As you certainly know, the Debian
package for Jami is generally completely outdated. Actually, the
package is 20190215, so got one year delay.

Our team is little (generally between 7->10 persons, for all
versions, all clients) but pretty active. We do a lot of
bugfixes/new features continuously and because the application is
communicating with other clients in p2p, it's a bad idea to keep
old clients.

Actually, it seems that the blocking point for Debian is restinio
(which is a header-only lib under BSD-3-CLAUSE). I know that Jami
is a big projects with a lot of things and moving pretty fast so
it can be difficult to package.

So today, I write to know how to improve the current situation.
Ideally, Debian should get the most recent package as soon as
possible and we want to know if anyone is interested to
package Jami in Debian/Ubuntu?

We can provide some help to do that, answer to questions, etc. We
are already providing some packages on https://jami.net, generated
from our sources
https://git.jami.net/savoirfairelinux/ring-project/ and ideally we
can plug our Jenkins instance to generate what Debian needs.

Best regards,
