<p>Nope, that's not the only reason.</p>
<p>You missed the fact that there's volunteers who have fun
doing this, for some value of "fun" anyway, and then there's
people whose job entails keeping package X in shape and who
helpfully share their work with the community, if nothing else
because long-term it's less effort than doing it all yourself.</p>
<p>Acknowledging the employer, sponsor, or
whatever-you-name-them of such work is something *I* call
"common courtesy", esp. since there are no immediate tangible
advantages for doing so. </p>

<p>So you two have a history of adverse interaction, and it shows.</p>
<p>Please stop. Both of you. You're not accomplishing anything
except discourage others (I admit that I'm extrapolating from a
sample size of one here, but still) from working with either of
you, and/or the "official" Asterisk package.</p>
