<P align=center><STRONG>Why is China intimidated by a Beauty Queen?</STRONG></P>

<P align=left>Anastasia Lin was born in China, but relocated to Canada when she was 13, and has since become a Canadian resident. For the past two years, she’s been selected to represent Canada in the Miss World contest, but she went through extreme tribulations during the process.</P>

<P align=left>In 2015, the competition took place in China, but Anastasia was prevented from entering the country by Chinese authorities, according to the New York Times. Anastasia was again a frontrunner in the Miss World competition, that took place in 2016 in Washington, D.C. She was not permitted to talk to journalists due to a risk of getting kicked out from the show. Anastasia is also an actress. Since she acted in a movie, The Bleeding Edge, she was blocked from attending the U.S. premiere.</P>

<P align=left>Why is this happening? In addition to being a pageant queen and an actress, Anastasia is a human rights activist who has been a vocal critic of the Chinese regime’s human rights problems. </P>

<P align=left>While Anastasia wishes to advocate for human rights and freedom for all, it was a practice called Falun Gong that first inspired her activism. Anastasia is a vocal supporter and an adherent of Falun Gong, a meditation-based spiritual custom that amassed tens of millions of followers until 1999 when it was branded a "heretical organization" by the Communist regime. Falun Gong practitioners were subsequently silenced through the Communist Party’s cruel means: jailed, persecuted and even murdered.</P>

<P align=left>The Chinese regime used every ploy to stop Anastasia from going to the world media. None of their ways have truly kept Anastasia Lin silent. She was able to find other platforms for her advocacy and the focus on her only seems to be getting bigger as the endeavours at suppression get more aggressive.<BR>The persecution of Falun Dafa in China is not only killing lives but repressing the very values which are fundamental to the health and well-being of all people throughout the world.</P></BODY></HTML>
