[Python-modules-team] autopkgtest and custom module name

Hello,
I'm trying to setup autopkg tests for python-vertica package.
I've added relevant line in d/control "Testsuite:
autopkgtest-pkg-python" but tests are failing because of the module name
which is not vertica but vertica_python.

How can I cutomize the module name to be tested ? Do I need to write my
own tests ? If yes, is there somewhere an example I could follow ?
