[sane-devel] Incorporating Brother Linux scanner drivers in next SANE?

Hello,

With Brother's SANE drivers for Linux being GPL, is there any hope of having
them incorporated into the next mainline SANE release?

The full driver source is available here:
http://www.brother.com/cgi-bin/agreement/agreement.cgi?dlfile=http://solutions.brother.com/Library/sol/printer/linux/rpmfiles/sane_source/brscan-src-0.2.3.tar.gz&lang=English_source

and the information on the drivers is here:
http://solutions.brother.com/linux/sol/printer/linux/sane_drivers.html

From an end-user perspective, having the drivers in the main line would be a
major plus.

The driver works well, but unfortunately it relies on the deprecated /proc/usb
system.

Thank you for listening.
