There seems to be no package nor port for utsushi in FreeBSD 11.1, so I would like to avoid that.<br><br></span></div><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif">For using USB, I had to solve a permission problem: I can detect the scanner on the usb port as root, <br><br><span style="font-family:monospace,monospace">found USB scanner (vendor=0x04b8, product=0x110c) at libusb:002:002<br></span><br>but not as an ordinary user. <br><br><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif">It took me some time to answer, because </span>had to refresh my knowledge on permissions and groups and users, and try out different recepies I found on the internet. Sometimes, the printer continues to say 'Scanning', but mostly I get the message 'Turn the power on and off again'. <br><br></div><div>Am I using the wrong backend here, should I install iscan or....
