Are you still running scanimage via sudo? In that case the environment<br>
settings are likely to get cleaned out. I forgot about that, sorry.<br>
<br>
IIRC, on Ubuntu you need to be in the scanner group in order to use it<br>
without sudo. You can check which groups you are in with, surprise!, the<br>
<br>
groups<br>
<br>
command. If that does not list scanner, you can add yourself to that<br>
group with<br>
<br>
sudo adduser mono scanner<br>
<br>
assuming mono is your user name. After that log out and back in again<br>
to make the change take effect.<br>
