It looks like you have not done the upgrade to get Rolf's version of
the packages.<br>
You have added the repo and updated to get sync'ed up with it.<br>
<br>
You should try:<br>
<br>
sudo apt upgrade<br>
<br>

have a new Canon printer, a Pixma TR4540, which is connected by

I've installed the latest drivers for scanning & printing,
and the printing works brilliantly, both via USB & the

<p>But I cannot get the scanning to work, even though Simple Scan
seems to find the scanner (see below).<br>

I've been using Ubunto and Canon printers for over 10 years and
have never encountered this issue before. And I can just about
follow step by step instruction for installing stuff via the
terminal, but that's the extent of my knowledge... ie backend
& frontend stuff is over my head.<br>

Please could someone advise me as to how to proceed?<br>
