<p>This might explain why I can change the contrast and brightness
of scans after turning off 'Use custom gamma table' in XSane by
using the standard controls.</p>
<p>scan2pdf does not give me this option as brightness and contrast
can only be controlled through the advanced settings which seem to
be affected by the issue.<br>
