When I launch SANE it scans and finds my old HP
scanner and also the new Epson scanner, so SANE knows
that it exists. But when I try to scan I get the

UDP/TCP and I have opened those ports in the UFW

<div>It's difficult for us to support Epson's driver ourselves
since it is not from the SANE project.</div>
<div>One option might be if it supports eSCL. You might have
some luck with the sane-escl and/or the sane-airscan
backends.</div>
<div>sane-escl is part of SANE and sane-airscan is a separate
backend that provides some overlap, from Alexander Pevsner.</div>
